Implementation Period: October 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025

Funding Source: European Climate Foundation

Project Leader: Institute for Sustainable Development Foundation (ISD)

Project Description:

Mirror measures refer to the „reciprocity of standards,” meaning that producers from third countries who wish to export to the EU market must meet the same stringent social, sanitary, and environmental requirements.

The goal of this grant is to stimulate greater interest in mirror measures between Poland and Ukraine, particularly in the context of Ukraine’s potential future EU membership.

Three key activities will be implemented:

  1. Preparation of a Report comparing agricultural product standards between Poland and Ukraine. Specific products will be selected, and the related standards will be analyzed. The report is expected to cover three products, depending on the availability of information, particularly concerning standards applied in Ukraine.
  2. Communication Campaign to disseminate the report’s findings, tailored to the Polish context. The aim is to share the report’s results, especially with agricultural organizations and institutions, highlighting the importance of applying mirror measures in trade agreements.
  3. Advocacy targeting the Polish government and Members of the European Parliament from Poland, as well as participation in a coalition of organizations addressing this issue, led by the European Climate Foundation and Slow Food.
